Your Shootsta Kit is well protected in its flight case, but here are some tips for making sure it makes it to the other side hassle-free!

Your Shootsta Kit is Usually Check-in Luggage

The Shootsta Kit weighs 12 kilograms when full of gear and measures 56cm x 36cm x 23cm so is usually not suitable as carry-on luggage. Some airlines may permit this as carry-on/hand luggage, so please check your airline's luggage restrictions to be sure. We recommend you pre-book your check-in luggage to save money.

Turn Everything Off

  • Please power off the iPad by holding down the lock button until the "Slide to Power Off" message comes up and sliding it left to right to shut down the iPad.
  • Switch the camera to OFF on the lever on top.
  • Switch off both the RX and TX (audio set) to conserve battery. The batteries in the RX and TX are disposable alkaline AAs.

Remove Lithium Batteries

Rechargeable lithium batteries are not allowed in the cargo hold of the plane (i.e. in your check-in luggage). There are 3 lithium batteries in your kit - 2 for the camera and 1 for the LED light. Remove these from the Kit before check-in and take them in your carry-on hand luggage.

Check Equipment is Safely Packed

  • Check that the iPad is sitting with the glass side facing the lid and the metal back facing you, and is tucked in all the way to the back of its foam slot.
  • Check that the multi-tool isn't sticking out too far, to avoid contact with the iPad.
  • Check that the camera is sitting securely in its foam, pushed down as far as it can go, without the coiled cable attached to the RX getting stuck underneath.
  • Check that no cables or power plugs are sticking out of the case.

If available, ask Check-in/Bag drop staff to place Kit in a plastic tub. This way the Kit is treated as a fragile item. Alternatively, you can place on a 'Fragile' swing tag on your Kit. Please avoid 'Fragile' tape/stickers to keep Kit looking good!
