If you are experiencing any issues with importing your footage onto the Shootsta iPad using the supplied SD card reader, here are several workarounds for getting your video content from your Sony a7ii camera onto a device that will allow you to upload to the Shootsta Hub.

  •  Use our white Apple SD card reader with an iPad or iPhone running an earlier version of the iOS software, e.g. iOS 11, as iOS 12 is the cause of the issue.
  • Use our black micro USB cable between the Sony a7ii camera's "multi" micro USB port on the side of the camera and your laptop's USB port, to import files directly from the camera (whilst camera switched off). You might need to use home computer, as your company’s IT Security may block external media/hardware access. The success of this option will also depend on what image importing software is installed on your computer.
  • Use a computer that has a built-in SD card reader slot to read the SD card directly. You might need to use a home computer, as your company’s IT Security may block external media/hardware access.
  • Use an SD card reader that works with normal USB ports and plug into your laptop to import files. You might need to use a home computer, as your company’s IT Security may block external media/hardware access. This item is not provided in your Shootsta Kit.
  • Use an SD card reader that works with your personal Android device (either micro USB or USB-C type connection ports). This item is not provided in your Shootsta Kit.
  • Transfer your footage wirelessly from the Sony a7ii camera by downloading the free Sony PlayMemories App. Follow the detailed instructions below: How to Transfer your Footage to an iPad Wirelessly.
