Each Project Template includes a corresponding set of Briefing fields relevant to your project type.
Briefing Fields
Tell Us More About Your Project
Creating an effective project brief is crucial for ensuring a smooth workflow and achieving the desired outcome. Each Project Template includes a series of briefing fields that need to be completed to provide clear guidance and expectations. Below are some of the fields included when filling out your project brief:
Background
Provide context about the origin of the project. Explain its role, importance, and relevance to the business. This section helps the team understand why the project is necessary and how it aligns with broader business objectives.
The Brief
Clearly outline what needs to be created. Be as specific as possible to ensure that all stakeholders have a clear understanding of the project’s requirements.
Hint: Using b-roll helps break up long stretches of footage, especially when someone is speaking directly to the camera. This is particularly useful for training and induction videos. Keep it relevant to your story to help engage viewers.
Objective
Define the goal of the video. Examples of objectives could include:
-
Raising awareness
-
Educating an audience
-
Promoting a product or service
-
Driving engagement
By stating a clear objective, the team can tailor the content to meet the intended purpose.
The Audience
Identify the target audience for the video. Examples include:
-
All employees
-
Business leaders
-
Specific product groups or functions
Knowing your audience helps in crafting a message that resonates with them.
What is the deadline for the final video delivery?
Provide a clear deadline for when all assets need to be delivered. This ensures that the production team can schedule accordingly and meet expectations.
Do you have any inspiration videos?
Include links to any videos that serve as inspiration for your project. This helps the team understand your vision and aesthetic preferences.
Music
There is an audio logo, a brand anthem, and a library of complementary music arrangements based on the brand anthem.
Color Scheme
Any color scheme options will be displayed as options to select. Preview and select the Color Scheme that suits your project best.
Additional Notes and Attachments
Not all briefs are created equal. Sometimes, you may need to provide extra information or supporting documents beyond the standard briefing fields. This is where the Additional Notes and Attachments section comes in handy.
The Additional Notes
The Additional Notes field is an open text area where you can add any relevant details that don’t fit into the predefined briefing fields. Use this space to provide clarifications, context, or any other critical information that will help your Production Team understand your project better.
Attachments
If you have external documents, PDFs, or other files that support your briefing, you can upload them using the Attachments field. Simply drag and drop your file into the designated area.
Important Considerations for Attachments:
-
File Naming: Since attachments are not previewable within the platform, we highly recommend renaming your file to something easily recognizable before uploading it.
Aspect Ratio
Aspect ratio is crucial in professional video production because it dictates how your content is framed, viewed, and perceived across different platforms and devices. Choosing the right aspect ratio enhances storytelling, ensures compatibility with distribution channels, and maintains a polished cinematic look. The most common aspect ratios include 16:9 (widescreen), which is the standard for TV, YouTube, and most online content, offering a balanced, immersive view. 1:1 (square) is ideal for social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, ensuring easy mobile viewing. 9:16 (vertical) is optimized for mobile-first platforms such as TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, catering to handheld viewing experiences. 4:3 (classic TV or vintage look) is sometimes used for nostalgic, artistic, or documentary-style projects. Selecting the right aspect ratio ensures that your video appears professional, aesthetically pleasing, and suited to its intended audience.
Presenter Details
To streamline your production workflow, you can input presenter details for your team to easily create titles and lower thirds. The key details to provide include the presenter's picture, which helps with visual identification, the presenter’s name, ensuring correct on-screen labeling, the presenter’s title, which adds credibility and context, and a brief description, helping the production team understand their role and where to place them in the video. Supplying this information in advance ensures accuracy, consistency, and a polished final product.
Submission and Transfer
All Briefing Fields, Additional Notes, Attachments, Aspect Ratio, Brand Guide, and Presenter Details will be packaged together. When you submit your project, this complete set of information will be transferred to your Production Team, ensuring they have everything they need to execute your project successfully.
By being detailed, you help create a clear, well-structured Pro Project Brief that minimizes questions and maximizes efficiency. Happy briefing!
