Understanding the time remaining on the Editing Clock
All videos are not created equal!
Shootsta is here to empower you to create amazing video content ... with a little help from us.
We're a subscription-based video production technology company to complement your video production flow. At Shootsta, we're all about high-quality, scalable cost-effective video content.
When can I expect my Pro Video back?
A Pro video is the simplest way to connect with your audience. Simply plan, shoot, then upload your clips and Shootsta will take care of the rest! Depending on your Shootsta subscription package, we'll return your edited Pro video in 24 or 48 hours, excluding weekends. To get your video back within our promised 24 or 48 hour turnaround time, there are a few criteria: Check out this article for more information.
When can I expect my Pro Animation back?
Animated explainers are a compelling way to communicate to your audience. Shootsta offers a range of themes to suit your message. Animated explainers can take up to 10 days, and turnaround times will always be quoted per video.
When can I expect my Pro Webinar back?
Webinars are a great medium to demonstrate your expertise, product or service. Use multiple cameras, add slides, or video! Shootsta can help transform your recorded webinar experience. Webinars are custom quoted and may take up to 48 hours.
When can I expect my Pro Podcast back?
Podcasts are longform audio only conversations about specific topics and can include insights from industry experts. Shootsta offers a full Podcast production service, including brand imaging. Podcasts are custom quoted and may take up to 72 hours.
Where can I find the expected time remaining for a video version?
Log in to Shootsta and filter your projects by 'editing in progress'. On each project tile, you will see the expected time remaining.
When does the editing clock start?
Once you submit your video project, the editing clock will start counting down the hours. So for instance, depending on your turnaround time, for a typical Pro video edit the clock will start on:
-
47 hours to go, for video projects with a 48 turnaround time (or 3 days 23 hours for projects submitted on Thursday or Friday, to account for the weekend).
- 23 hours to go, for video projects with a 24 turnaround times and for all amendments regardless of your subscription turnaround time (or 2 days 23 hours for projects submitted on Friday, to account for the weekend).
Why is my time remaining estimate longer than expected?
Some video types, such as animated videos and podcasts, take a little longer to get just right. Not to worry, your Shootsta Production Team LEad will let you know when to expect your video.
What happens if I request changes to my video?
Our aim is to perfectly edit your video in as little time as possible. However, it can take time (and amendment rounds) to get things just right. If you need further edits, you can submit change requests in Shootsta. When you submit changes, Shootsta will automatically update your estimated time remaining as per your subscription's turnaround time.
When does the editing clock get amended?
The clock will be manually extended by our Editing Team if you have requested
-
changes to a video project for which editing was already in progress
-
video add-ons that require more time
When can I expect my video back if the project status is 'On Hold'?
When your video's status is set 'on hold', it probably means your editor needs some more information before we can progress with the edit. Your editor or Production Team Lead will usually contact you via email when placing a project on hold. For more information check out our article: Why is my video project on hold?.
What happens over the weekend?
Great question! On the weekend our Editing Team enjoys their well-deserved time off. So, every Friday at 23:59 time we pause the count down on the 'Hours to go' for 48 hours until Sunday 23:59. This additional time will be reflected in your video's countdown timer.
